Slater and Gordon reveals its newest partnership with charity ThinBlueLineUK

Slater and Gordon unveils its newest charity partnership with ThinBlueLineUK, marking a new chapter in providing bespoke legal support for officers. The new partnership with ThinBlueLineUK is the law firm’s latest addition to its long-standing track record in representing police officers for the past seven decades.

The mental health charity is uniquely run by serving and retired police officers, offering a true understanding of the experiences that the police force face on a daily basis, as well as the impact it can have on their psychological wellbeing.

For police officers struggling with their mental health, ThinBlueLineUK provides support services through its Thrive Mental Wellbeing app, offering a variety of resources such as therapy sessions, mindfulness practices and wellbeing management tools.

The charity also dedicates time to spreading awareness of the challenges faced by police officers and their impact such as life-changing injuries, traumatic events and loss. Its efforts encourage officers to seek support when they need it most, where charities like ThinBlueLineUK can bring a helping hand and a pathway to recovery. Slater and Gordon aim to strengthen the charity’s support offering to police officers through improved access to legal advice.

Police officers who are experiencing stress, depression or PTSD can reach out to the law firm to explore legal guidance on work challenges that have caused a serious impact to their wellbeing.

Together, the partnership is committed to helping a greater number of police officers each year find mental health services that can enable them to find strength and recovery in their hardest moments.

Gary Craig, Founder of ThinBlueLineUK adds, “ThinBlueLineUK is run by police officers, for police officers. We know how difficult it is to ask for help, as we understand the pressures experienced by police officers and we are here to help them. We are passionate about raising awareness and making it as easy as possible for officers to get the help they need, when they need it.

“We are delighted to have the support of Slater and Gordon who work extensively with police officers across the United Kingdom. The partnership will assist officers by getting access to a legal expert for that initial advice when things go wrong. Together, we will help them reduce any feelings of stress and anxiety, helping them overcome these difficult times.” Matthew Tomlinson, Head of Serious Injury (North) at Slater and Gordon, comments on the new partnership with ThinBlueLineUK: “Our team has represented police officers for many years, and have gained an invaluable insight into the profound challenges officers often face whilst protecting the public.

“Not only do police officers put their own lives in danger for others, but their commitment can also cause a serious impact to their own mental wellbeing. From post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and grief – these emotions can feed into their personal and professional lives, with some, sadly, having to leave their role as a result.

“We have reached many successful settlements for officers, and we are proud of our commitment to helping them find a new start and overcome these difficult times. Our work with ThinBlueLineUK is a truly important partnership where we can support even more officers who are experiencing poor mental health or workplace injury.”
