GET ACCESS TO THRIVE NOW

Together with THRIVE we offer a free mental wellbeing support service, through an in-app therapy tool. This is completely free and available to all Police Officers across the UK.

This enables officers when in need to quickly access the app and confidentially speak to one of our qualified therapists, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our Charities Mission

Our aim is simple, to support police officers in their positive mental health and wellbeing throughout the United Kingdom. Mental health issues can be complex but are quite rightly becoming more understood and accepted by police forces and the public. It is great to see force occupational health units offering more treatments and support to officers; but we also know from speaking to forces and officers, that the demands placed on their Occupational Health services and within the NHS quite often mean that officers are having to wait weeks if not months to receive the appropriate help and support they often desperately need.

Here at Thin Blue Line UK, our mission is to support officers’ mental health and wellbeing, especially when long waiting times for treatment can make things harder for them. We work closely with police forces across the country to ensure officers know it’s okay not to be okay.

Too often, officers say “I’m fine” when they’re not. We want to change that by empowering them to speak up without fear or stigma. We also collaborate with other organisations in this space, complementing existing services and expanding access to support. By raising awareness, sharing resources, and signposting help, we ensure officers get the best care possible, quickly and effectively. We regularly also donate funding to enhance services provided by our partner organisations, helping officers who are in need access the right support at the right time.

We would love if you could take the time to read some of the powerful stories which have been written by the officers who we have helped after they have reached out to us here at

Thin Blue Line UK.

Our Partnerships and Services

Four hands clasped together, forming a square, symbolizing unity and teamwork.

Several years ago, here at Thin Blue Line UK we recognised the high level of demand which was being placed on each police force which was negatively impacting officer wellbeing and organisations being able to offer sufficient help to officers when they were in need. As a charity, we responded and partnered up with THRIVE, to offer an effective solution to benefit officers' mental health, whilst assisting forces in enhancing the range of services they could offer.

Here at Thin Blue Line UK, our partnering with THRIVE is one of our proudest successes to date. We all know here at the charity the amount of stress and pressure working on the thin blue line can cause. From feelings of isolation to feelings of stress and anxiety after dealing with a traumatic incident, amongst many others. That is exactly why we have partnered with THRIVE to give every Police Officer in the UK the ability to access quick, free and confidential help and support to mental health and wellbeing services without having to wait long periods for an appointment via OHU and NHS services. In July 2024 we invested more heavily in our support services with THRIVE to enable access to a therapist 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We talk more about our partnership with THRIVE below.

Our long standing partnership with Thin Blue Line Denmark is one of our most cherished. Here at Thin Blue Line UK, we annually fund officers to attend their Police Week. The officers who we fund have often dealt with extreme incidents of trauma or extra ordinary incidents, but it allows them to join like-minded individuals for a week where relationships are created, friendships strengthened, and officers create memories which they’ll take away in their hearts forever.

We’re also incredibly thankful to the United Kingdom's branch of the International Police Association for choosing Thin Blue Line UK as their Charity of the Year for 2025/26. We look forward to continuing to build a closer partnership with this fantastic organisation.

Here at Thin Blue Line UK, we have previously provided donations to the Police Treatment Centres to support their Psychological Wellbeing programme, which consists of sessions in stress management, coping strategies, relaxation, sleep and mindfulness. Alongside group exercise sessions, individual counselling and complementary therapy sessions.

We know first-hand at Thin Blue Line UK; how beneficial this programme is and how it can make a huge difference in the quality of a police officer's life. Some officers are alive today because of the support they received at the Police Treatment Centres.

This is why Thin Blue Line UK believe passionately in this work and why as a charity we continue to build on our success by working with other charities, organisations and businesses which align with our charity's aim in supporting our officers on the thin blue line.

We’ve teamed up with THRIVE to give every Police Officer in the UK free, confidential, 24/7 access to mental health support.

Fully funded Thin Blue Line UK, no questions asked why you need the app, no long waits and no barriers to access.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just not yourself — help is just a click away.

Remember... Reach out. Speak up. You’re not alone.

On downloading the app, officers will be guided through an initial assessment. This appraisal will help the app identify the support best suited to the individual.

Officers will be provided with their own diary and taken through the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) programme. This is unique to each officer. They will unlock new features and personalised goals on their journey, such as around calm breathing exercises, applied relaxation and meditation.

Officers will also receive bespoke recommendations such as around ways to improve sleep, amongst many others.

Most notably as a key support feature and fully funded via Thin Blue Line UK is the in app live therapy service. This is a free service available to all Police Officers who have THRIVE access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (since July 2024). This enables all officers to be able to quickly and confidentially speak to a qualified therapist by a simple click of a chat button.

We know as a charity based on the feedback we have received from officers who have been given access to this support how much of a difference it can make. We have been told it has the capability to minimise the impact of a smaller issue not becoming a major crisis.

Brother Don't Be Alone

Presented by Thin Blue Line UK – Released this Movember

In November 2025 we were proud to unveil a powerful new music video, “Brother Don’t Be Alone”, created by a remarkable supporter of our charity who works in a confidential role to support the wellbeing of police officers. You can still watch the video clicking the play button above.

This heartfelt piece was created in collaboration with incredible allies of Thin Blue Line UK and launches during Movember, a month dedicated to raising awareness of men’s mental health.

💔 Why This Matters:

  • Men are 3 times more likely to die by suicide than women.
  • Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 35 in England and Wales.
  • Police officers face extraordinary levels of trauma in their careers.
  • While most people experience 3–4 traumatic events in a lifetime, the average officer encounters 400–600, increasing the risk of PTSD and other mental health challenges.

Here at Thin Blue Line UK, we’re here to help.

From our THRIVE wellbeing app, which offers 24/7 access to qualified therapists, to the other vital services and support we provide to police officers across the United Kingdom, Thin Blue Line UK stands beside those who work hard every day to serve our communities.

🎥 About the Video:

Brother Don’t Be Alone” is more than a song—it’s a message. A reminder that you are not alone. It speaks to the silent struggles many face and the life-saving power of reaching out, supporting one another, and starting conversations.
