Bethany O'Meara, Graeme Hazell and Stewart Fleming are aiming to go the distance in Edinburgh 2027 while raising essential funds for the policing charity

Thin Blue Line UK is proud to announce that three dedicated supporters, Bethany O'Meara, Graeme Hazell and Stewart Fleming, will be taking on the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 30 May 2027 in support of the charity. The trio are already preparing for the challenge, which will see them take on 26.2 miles through Scotland's capital while raising vital funds to support Thin Blue Line UK's work with serving and retired police officers and their families.

Their commitment highlights the incredible role fundraisers play in helping Thin Blue Line UK continue its mission. As a small charity that receives no government funding, every pound raised through fundraising activities directly contributes towards supporting members of the policing family and raising awareness of the mental health and wellbeing challenges faced within policing.

The Edinburgh Marathon represents a significant commitment for all three runners, requiring months of training, determination and dedication. By choosing to support Thin Blue Line UK, Bethany, Graeme and Stewart are not only taking on a personal challenge but also helping ensure the charity can continue delivering support to those who have dedicated their lives to protecting others.

Tony a Trustee of Thin Blue Line UK said "We are incredibly grateful to Bethany, Graeme and Stewart for choosing to support Thin Blue Line UK by taking on the Edinburgh Marathon. As a charity that receives no government funding, fundraisers are absolutely vital to everything we do. Every mile they run and every pound they raise helps us continue supporting serving and retired police officers and their families across the UK. Challenges like this not only raise essential funds but also help raise awareness of the importance of wellbeing and mental health within the policing community. On behalf of everyone at Thin Blue Line UK, I would like to thank them for their commitment and wish them every success with their training over the coming months".

The charity is encouraging supporters to get behind the Edinburgh Marathon team and help them reach their fundraising targets.

Thin Blue Line UK has renewed its support for the growing campaign to prevent the early release of the killers of PC Andrew Harper. The charity believes that allowing these early releases sends the wrong message to officers who place themselves in harm's way every day to protect their communities.
