A day to remember and honour the lives of PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes

Today marks 14 years since the tragic murders of PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes, two young police officers who lost their lives whilst serving and protecting their communities in Greater Manchester. On this day, here at Thin Blue Line UK we pause to remember Fiona and Nicola with the utmost respect and gratitude. Their courage, dedication and commitment to public service continue to inspire those who wear the uniform and those who support policing across the United Kingdom.

For everyone here at Thin Blue Line UK, Fiona and Nicola hold a particularly special place in our hearts. Following their senseless murders in September 2012, our charity was established with a determination to create something positive from unimaginable tragedy. Their loss became the catalyst for our mission to support police officers and staff through positive mental health and wellbeing initiatives, ensuring those who serve others receive the support they deserve.

Over the past 14 years, Fiona and Nicola's legacy has remained at the forefront of our work here at Thin Blue Line UK. While their lives were taken far too soon, the impact they have had on policing, their colleagues, and the wider police family continues to be felt. Their memory serves as a constant reminder of the sacrifices made every day by officers across the country in the line of duty.

As we reflect on this anniversary, our thoughts are firmly with Fiona and Nicola's families, friends, colleagues and all those whose lives were touched by them. We recognise that anniversaries such as this can bring renewed feelings of loss and sadness, and we want those closest to Fiona and Nicola to know that they remain in our thoughts today.
