Selkirk Distillers Donates £590 to Thin Blue Line UK Through Sales of Special Edition Gin
22 February 2026
Selkirk Distillers has made another significant contribution to Thin Blue Line UK, donating £590 raised through sales of their specially crafted Thin Blue Line Gin. The donation forms part of the distillery’s ongoing commitment to support meaningful charities through the sale of its award‑winning spirits.
Allan Walker a retired police officer himself is the co-founder of Selkirk Distillers, a Scottish craft distillery established in 2017 alongside his wife, Jane. Together, they have created a collection of exceptional spirits, including Selkirk Gin and Bannock Gin, which have become widely recognised for their quality and distinctive flavours. Allan's passion for craftsmanship and dedication to the art of distilling are reflected in the distillery’s commitment to using locally sourced ingredients and traditional methods.
Every six months, Selkirk Distillers tallies the number of bottles sold and donates to three chosen registered charities, with the Thin Blue Line UK
being one of these fortunate charities alongside the MS Society and The Brain Tumour Charity.
The most recent donation reflects the continued popularity of the Thin Blue Line Gin, with £10 from every 70cl bottle contributed directly to the charity. The cause holds particular significance for the distillery. Allan, Selkirk Distillers’ owner and head distiller, is a retired police officer, making the partnership with Thin Blue Line UK
both personal and heartfelt. The gin has become an increasingly popular retirement gift for police officers, deepening its symbolic connection to the policing community.
Jack a Trustee of Thin Blue Line UK
thanked Selkirk's by saying “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Selkirk Distillers, donations like this from people buying this incredibly tasty gin help us continue our mission to support the mental health and wellbeing of police officers across the UK, whilst also enjoying a flavoursome drink too... having bought a few bottles myself I would whole heartedly recommend you purchase a bottle”.
The Thin Blue Line Gin
itself has recently undergone a refreshed design over the last 12 months. The updated bottle features a striking blue wax seal and a police box stamp, offering a visual tribute to the police service and a subtle nod to the iconic TARDIS, delighting Doctor Who fans and collectors alike.
Crafted in the Scottish Borders, the Thin Blue Line Gin
incorporates botanicals such as milk thistle, everlasting flower, frankincense, and grapefruit, creating a flavour profile that balances warm, woody spice with floral notes and a bright citrus finish. It is available in 70cl, 10cl, and 5clsizes.
Selkirk's encourage customers to continue supporting these charitable efforts by choosing their special edition spirits.
Bottles can be purchased directly from the distillery via their online shop, with free delivery for orders over £40 when using the discount code FREE.
For every 70cl bottle sold, Selkirk's donate £10.00 directly to Thin Blue Line UK, allowing you to enjoy this remarkable gin while contributing to the promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing for police officers throughout the UK.

Thin Blue Line UK has recently announced the release of a powerful and deeply personal poem written by Liam, a former police officer who previously served in Devon and Cornwall Police, following nearly 14 years of military service in the British Army. After stepping away from policing and finding renewed happiness elsewhere, Liam has chosen to use his voice and lived experience to shed light on the urgent welfare challenges faced by those still serving on the frontline. The poem, which took Liam a year to complete, reflects the emotional and physical toll experienced by officers across the country. Drawing on quiet reflection, first-hand observation, and the shared struggles of colleagues, Liam’s work gives a candid account of the pressures faced by modern policing, from chronic understaffing and excessive workloads to the slow erosion of vital welfare and organisational support. Despite its honesty, the poem does not dwell in bitterness. Instead, it is a heartfelt call for reform and a reminder of the profession’s enduring value. Liam emphasises that policing remains “one of the best jobs in the world,” even as the system often leaves its officers feeling unsupported, exhausted, or unheard. His message captures both the pride of service and the emotional weight carried by those who dedicate their lives to protecting others. Over recent months, Thin Blue Line UK has been working closely with Liam to help bring his message to a wider audience. The charity has supported his journey of reflection, encouraged the poem’s release, and offered a platform for officers who may resonate with his words. In recognition of that partnership, Liam has granted Thin Blue Line UK the honour of sharing his poem publicly. “We are incredibly grateful to Liam for trusting us with this piece of his story,” a spokesperson for the charity said. “His poem reflects the experiences of many officers, those still serving, those who left quietly, and those who felt they had no choice but to walk away. His honesty and courage will undoubtedly help others feel understood and less alone.” The charity is encouraging officers and supporters alike to listen to Liam’s poem, reflect on its message, and consider how they can contribute to improved welfare across the policing community. For those serving officers seeking help, Thin Blue Line UK continues to provide confidential mental‑health and wellbeing support. Individuals can reach out directly through the charity’s dedicated support page by clicking HERE . In addition, Liam has kindly granted permission for the charity to invite donations from anyone moved by his words and committed to enhancing officer welfare. You can donate by clicking HERE .
