Thin Blue Line UK has returned from an incredible week in Scotland after proudly supporting police officers and staff during the Commonwealth Games, delivering wellbeing initiatives and connecting with the policing family at one of the country's most significant international sporting events.

Ahead of the Games, Thin Blue Line UK was honoured to accept an invitation from Police Scotland to attend the event and provide dedicated wellbeing support to the officers and staff working tirelessly behind the scenes. With thousands of visitors attending and extensive policing operations required to ensure the safety and success of the Games, the charity saw a valuable opportunity to support those serving on the frontline.

The charity's aim throughout the event was simple: to help create a positive and supportive environment where officers felt valued, appreciated and able to take a moment to recharge during what proved to be a busy and demanding deployment.

Throughout the Games, members of the Thin Blue Line UK team engaged with officers from across Scotland, meeting countless individuals whose professionalism, dedication and commitment were evident at every turn. The charity's wellbeing table became a welcoming hub where officers could stop by, connect with colleagues and take part in important conversations surrounding mental health, self-care and peer support.

One of the highlights of the week saw the team prepare and distribute more than 800 pick-and-mix sweet bags, providing a simple gesture of appreciation while opening the door to meaningful discussions about wellbeing. The initiative proved hugely popular and helped create opportunities for officers to speak openly about the challenges of policing, the importance of looking after themselves, and supporting each other both on and off duty. The visit also gave Thin Blue Line UK the opportunity to witness first-hand the impressive wellbeing measures implemented by Police Scotland throughout the Games. From dedicated welfare provisions to supportive spaces designed to prioritise officer wellbeing, the efforts demonstrated a clear commitment to ensuring those working long shifts had access to the support they needed.
